Message well, many of you have been waiting for this post, and i was soo looking forward
to showing all of you my project car, but it seems i have the worst luck known to
man. i picked up the car thursday, drove it for about 45 mins of the 5 hour trip
back to pennsyltuckey, through new jersey, with the front end off =P, people were
staring like wtf... but i was just running it casually putting some break in miles
enjoying the ride since it was really the first time in about 2 years i had really
driven the car. after that little tease of a drive i loaded back on the trailer and
continued on home. didnt get back til 2am and could barely sleep i was so excited to
get up and finish all the little things on the car and continue the break in period
the next day. well, to make the story short, again, i didnt get to finish my break
in miles. many of you remember my horror story post when this happened 1.5 years ago
@ speedlab nyc. this time it wasnt the turbo's that went, but a rod. when i saw the
oil pan i was about to cry. i was running stock rods w/ JE pistons... a stock rod
bolt came back to kill me. In these pics i explain everything... one of the nuts
from the rod that broke i could loosen with my bare hands soon as i took off the oil
pan. i got about 100 total break in miles complete before the bolt sheared and
shattered my dreams of having this car ready for this summer's track season.
although, there is somewhat of a chance i will still make it, depending on if i can
get some help. for those that haven't already figured it out, i am running a single
turbo setup. yes. single turbo. i CAN NOT give out any details of the manifold as i
am still endowed to PSR for their work with that. though, i am skeptical as to their
machine shops work(because of that nut being only finger tight on the rod). but,
because they are stock rods, its very hard to point a finger, and would be VERY hard
to prove. but, i can give away the specs on my turbo. the turbo is a schwitzer t04s/ t72,
and the max hp rating on it is 1000hp(crank) on a gasoline engine. the a/r on compressor
is .72 and the turbine is a 1.3. this is what the big dyno queen supra's (t04.com)
run to make the huge numbers. i can tell you our "little v6" does spool this turbo, mainly
because of PSR's work on the manifold, and with some spoolup juice i have no doubts on
this car running super low 10's once it is tuned. I can tell you that the boost starts to
come in at around 4000-4200rpm, and this is with it running very rich. if i could get a base
map to run on the link correctly the car would spool even faster. and when the boost
comes in, its like a freight train hitting the ass end of the car. this f'er pulls,
crazy hard. and this is with the tial wastegate set at its lowest setting approx. 8-9psi.
this car WILL compete with the big power supras.

HERE IS MY PROBLEM.---
i am completely out of money, loan is maxed out, borrowed money from family to pick up
the car... everyone is upset with me after the car broke after 1 day. i am looking for
a sponsorship. it wont take much. i will need 1 JE piston (the one the rod broke), and a
set of good rods(preferrebly crower or tomei)... thats all.... i think i can manage to
purchase the crank cradle, a crank(if needed, i gotta check it out yet), and a
block(if needed). I know there are a lot of forum sponsors out there and i am hoping one
of them would be interested in helping me out. i KNOW my car will be in magazines once
its done. a single turbo convertible Z, cmon, of course it will be. but, here are the
pictures of my wounded motor, if anyone is company is interested please call me
814.934.9315, and of course i will support your company to great lengths for helping me
out in this twice over ass-ramming with no lube. if i cant get a sponsor i am planning
on either letting the car sit for 2 years til i have money, or sell the car with no
motor(NO ONE EMAIL OR CALL ME SAYING THEY WANT TO BUY IT, i will do that when its at a
last resort).
